SUMMER CAMP‎ > ‎

Parents / Guardians,

This summer at Greenhill YMCA, the Summer Camp Team wish to make the programme an exciting, valuable and educational experience for your child. Appreciatively, the Team accepts the support you have given our programme thus far - It has benefited us and our mission greatly, and for this we thank-you. Although we greatly appreciate your past support to our work, we continue to rely on your on-going dedication to make our camp successful. On this note, we extend a warm invitation to continue supporting us, particularly in the following areas:

  1. Registration

One of the most important aspects to ensuring a safe Summer Camp is your help at registration. Here, you will be asked to sign your child / children in and out on our registration sheets. At registration you can also alert our staff to any medical conditions your child may have and leave medication (E.g. Epi-pens) with our trained staff.

Registration opens between 8:40am – 9:15am and 3:55pm – 4:10pm

  1. Car Parking

Summer Camp 2013 car parking staff will help direct traffic; please follow their instructions. The lane into our centre only permits one lane of traffic, so please bare with our attendants as they try to ease the traffic flow.

  1. What to Bring on a Daily Basis

Each day it is essential that your child arrives equipped for the day ahead. There are really just three things to remember. Firstly, we have a programme largely based on a range of outdoor activities often involving water and mud. As such your child / children should come in old clothes and trainers. They should bring a change of trousers, t-shirt, underwear, socks, trainers and a towel. A warm, waterproof coat and hat is also advisable on colder days. Secondly, they should bring pack lunch (which can be left off at registration) NB: This year we have no lunchtime catering on site. Thirdly, we recommend that your child / children should come wearing midge spray. This can be quite a big problem on still days at Greenhill.

    4.    BIVI Experience (SAC members only)

Each Thursday the Senior Adventure Camp participants will enjoy a BIVI experience in the local Donard Forest. Once your child signs in on Thursday morning they will be in the care of the Senior Adventure Camp Team and can be signed out on Friday at noon.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Jennifer at 028 437 23172

Thank you for your cooperation,

                                Summer Camp Director
